Job summary

Mercy Health in Toledo is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Urgent Care/Occupational Health to support providers in direct and indirect patient care. You will take vitals, document history, prepare patients for exams, and assist with medications under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School/GED (required).
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program (preferred in all states except South Carolina).
• Active Medical Assisting certifications such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA; ABR-OE acceptable if MA cert not obtainable (SC exclusions).
• BLS Basic Life Support required at some Mercy Health locations and preferred prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and vital signs; document in medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and assess needs.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and assist with lab tasks as needed.
• Explain treatments and instructions to patients.
