Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Urgent Care in Sylvania. The role supports the primary care physician by updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing rooms for examinations.

The CMA will provide excellent patient service, verify test results, and assist with clerical tasks such as inventory and referrals. A current MA certification and BLS are required or anticipated at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent.
• BLS certification required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred prior to independent patient care.
• 1 year of medical assistant experience preferred; 2 years clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Review and update health records and verify diagnostic results.
• Measure vital signs and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Perform clerical duties including inventory checks and phone coverage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly; support team as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
