Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Urgent Care – Occupational Health. Under the direction of the provider, the Medical Assistant contributes to completion of the patient’s chief complaint, taking vitals, and documenting needs while supporting care planning and medication administration.

Requirements include High School diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant education program (SC exceptions apply).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program preferred (except in South Carolina).
• South Carolina-specific options may be required in lieu of a program.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the provider, assist with patient care and clinical tasks.
• Take vitals (respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight, temperature) and document patient needs.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist the physician.
• Document patient information and assist in planning and implementing care.
• Administer prescribed medications within scope and guidelines.
