Job summary

Mercy Health in Toledo, OH is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Urgent Care/Occupational Health in South Toledo. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under a provider, documenting chief complaints, vitals, and medications and preparing patients for examinations.

The role requires High School/GED, MA post-secondary education (preferred outside SC), active MA certification or ABR-OE, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• MA post-secondary program completion preferred (except SC).
• Active MA certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA; ABR-OE acceptable.
• BLS certification required (AHA).
• 1 year of MA experience preferred.
• Externship/clinical lab training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to legal responsibilities within Medical Assistant role.
• Identify significant changes in patient condition and report to provider.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to provider or supervisor.
• Maintain clinical and admin skills per competency guidelines.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Travel to other facilities to support providers as needed.
