Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for Sylvania Medical Services in the Toledo area. This role provides direct and indirect patient care under the provider's supervision, records vital signs, documents patient needs and helps execute care plans including medication administration within scope.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, enrollment in an approved MA program within 30 days of employment, and MA certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program required within 30 days employment.
• Active Medical Assisting certification required within 12 months of start date.
• BLS certification required at hire or prior to independent patient care at some Mercy locations.

Responsibilities

• Identify significant changes in patient condition through data collection and report them to the provider.
• Adhere to legal responsibilities of the Medical Assistant role.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist the physician.
• Document patient medical history and vital signs in medical records.
• Assist in planning and implementing patient care under supervision.
• Perform routine duties such as labeling specimens and handling lab samples.
