Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Urgent Care location on Nuckols Road. The CMA provides direct and indirect patient care under the provider, assisting with patient evaluation and recording vitals, and administering medications as ordered. Strong multitasking and accurate documentation are essential.

The role requires a high school diploma and CMA certification. Clinical externship or experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Record patients’ medical history and vital statistics.
• Interview patients to obtain information and measure vitals.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures and medications to patients.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
• Handle general office duties and multitask in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

• Understands and adheres to legal responsibilities within the CMA role.
• Identifies changes in patient condition and reports to provider.
• Troubleshoots issues and escalates to appropriate internal resource.
• Maintains competency guidelines to meet patient care and daily operations.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Travel to other facilities or adjust hours to meet patient care needs as directed.
