Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Virginia is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Urgent Care Sauer Center. The CMA will provide indirect and direct patient care under the provider's supervision, record chief complaints, take vitals, and assist with exam preparation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary program preferred.
• Active CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA or ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtained.
• Externship or clinical lab training preferred.
• 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information and chief complaints.
• Measure vitals and prepare patients for examinations.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain treatments and instructions to patients.
• Maintain clinical and administrative duties and safety standards.
