Job summary

The Salvation Army Revolution Hawaii program in Hawaii invites applications for a Resident Advisor / Outreach Coordinator. This pivotal role guides students in daily living, coordinates field training, and drives street-level outreach to at-risk youth and homeless populations, aligning with the mission of Saving Souls, Growing Saints, Engaging Suffering Humanity.

You will build partnerships with local organizations, supervise volunteers, oversee mission stations, and support camp leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Urban or World Mission experience, or a Revolution Hawaii graduate.
• Broad knowledge of Salvation Army beliefs, practices and programs.
• Experience in youth work, including street-level engagement with the homeless.
• Experience in working with community groups.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Leadership experience in team ministry and ability to work with campus staff, the public, and youth.

Responsibilities

• Connect and build relationships with community groups and organizations to form partnerships supporting the camp’s mission.
• Organize, coordinate and lead street level outreach mission and ministry with the homeless, at-risk youth, and others in the community.
• Assist in the development and implementation of mission opportunities.
• Supervise or provide oversight to team members across outreach locations and report issues to Camp Directors.
• Assist with records and reporting related to outreach.
• Participate as a team leader of a ministry team and model Christian ethics.
• Provide leadership and support to local corps/church communities by attending services and helping organize Revolution Hawaii activities.
