Job summary

The Salvation Army – Hawaii Family Intervention Services is seeking a full-time Youth Development Specialist to provide housing services for runaways, current and former foster youth, and at-risk youths in Hawaii. You will develop individualized living plans, coordinate with partners, and deliver education and transition services in a compassionate, women- and family-friendly environment.

Responsibilities include outreach, assessments, case management, crisis intervention, and documentation

Qualifications

• BA or AS with one year job-related experience, or HS diploma with four years related experience; and/or equivalency
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license and TB clearance
• FBI/Criminal History & CAN clearance; MVR clearance meet SA standards as an authorized driver

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach services to runaway and homeless youth and young adults at risk of homelessness or involved in the juvenile justice system.
• Provide housing information and assistance to clients.
• Develop youth's individualized independent living plan and coordinate collateral contacts.
• Offer transitional services in education, life skills, and career/employment support.
• Provide crisis intervention to youth and families.
• Assist youths at risk of homelessness with housing placement resources and options.

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field

Associate degree in Human Services or related field
