Job summary

Uncommon Schools in New Jersey is seeking both experienced and apprentice teachers for all grades and all subjects for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years. Teachers will implement Uncommon’s curriculum and help students reach high academic standards.

We seek candidates who are committed to improving instruction through collaboration and targeted development within their school community, with a focus on urban students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university required.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher by start of employment.
• Teaching credential helpful but not required.
• Experience or interest in urban education preferred.
• K-12 education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement curricula and activities to meet high academic standards.
• Analyze assessments to inform and differentiate instruction.
• Focus on student learning, critical thinking, and meeting learning needs.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment aligned with core values and conduct.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate in August staff orientation and ongoing instructional training.
• Support grade-level and school-wide activities throughout the year.
