Job summary

Plantible is building the next generation of its commercial production facilities. The Upstream Project Engineer will own the engineering and field execution for systems growing and delivering Lemna biomass to downstream processing.

You will bridge Plantible's agricultural and process teams with external engineers and vendors, shaping a repeatable design package for future facilities. This role is technical and field-based, requiring coordinating multiple disciplines, driving decisions to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline relevant to the role.
• Typically 5-10+ years supporting industrial or controlled-environment capital projects.
• Experience with greenhouse construction, irrigation, or large-scale facilities.
• Experience coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and vendor teams.
• Willingness to spend significant time onsite during construction and startup.

Responsibilities

• Translate and define scopes for external engineering partners and vendors.
• Coordinate disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, controls, utilities).
• Manage interfaces, ownership, decisions, risks, and project schedule.
• Lead design reviews with internal experts and external engineers.
• Coordinate RFQs, vendor selection, and technical alignment before purchase.
• Maintain on-site presence during construction, verify progress, and resolve issues.
• Plan for commissioning and startup, ensure systems are documented and safe.
