Job summary

Plantible Foods is building its next generation of commercial facilities. The Downstream Project Engineer will own the engineering and field execution of systems that receive harvested biomass and convert it into consistent, high‑quality products.

You will bridge process experts and external designers, coordinating process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, controls and utilities to deliver safe, hygienic, and scalable systems, from design through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Bioengineering, Food Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–10+ years supporting industrial capital projects in hygienic manufacturing environments.
• Direct experience with downstream unit operations and equipment integration.
• Strong understanding of sanitary design, CIP, and process utilities.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements from Engineering, R&D, Operations, Maintenance, and Food Safety into clear scopes for external partners.
• Coordinate disciplines including process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, controls, and facilities.
• Maintain deliverables, decisions, risks, and dependencies against the project schedule.
• Lead design reviews with internal experts and external engineers.
• Support equipment specification, vendor selection, FAT/SAT, and startup activities.
