Job summary

Eurofins is seeking an Upstream Scientist to lead development, optimization, and scale-up of upstream bioprocesses using 50L–500L single-use bioreactors. The role emphasizes mammalian cell culture, media development, process monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration to enable technology transfer and commercial manufacturing.

You will design studies, analyze data to identify critical parameters, and contribute to continuous improvement while working closely with Process Development,

Qualifications

• Strong background in upstream bioprocessing with mammalian cell culture
• Experience in scale-up and technology transfer to manufacturing
• Familiarity with GMP/GLP practices and regulatory documentation

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale upstream bioprocesses for biologics and vaccines
• Plan studies to improve cell growth, productivity, and product quality
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Analytical Sciences, and Quality to support tech transfer
• Author study protocols and technical reports with compliant documentation
• Troubleshoot deviations and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Support manufacturing operations during commercial scale-up
