Job summary

The Talent Shop is seeking a General Manager for our upscale, farm-to-table restaurant in Staunton, Virginia. You will lead daily operations, drive financial performance, and ensure an exceptional guest experience while upholding local, sustainable food practices.

Collaborating with the Director of Operations, you will recruit and develop team members, manage marketing efforts, and maintain brand standards across all departments. A leadership-centric, results-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or related certification required.
• Experience in upscale restaurant management.
• Strong finance and P&L familiarity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proven leadership and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and staff supervision.
• Develop and execute sales growth strategies.
• Act as liaison between ownership and team.
• Uphold sustainable food practices and brand standards.
• Assist executive chef in sourcing local/regional producers.
• Oversee marketing, website and social media presence.
• Provide leadership across all departments and enforce policies.

• Monitor financial performance for profitability and cost efficiency.
• Cultivate relationships with local clientele and community.
• Oversee recruitment, training and development to reduce turnover.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and safety compliance.
