Job summary

Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, just outside Boston, seeks a full-time Upper School Math teacher to instruct courses from Integrated Math 2 through Calculus, advise students, and participate in school life beyond the department.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), minimum three years of teaching, and a passion for innovative curricula and collaborative, student-centered instruction; commitment to diversity and professional growth is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the subject area; master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years of teaching experience or relevant work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the work of the Math Department, including innovative student-centered practices
• Collaborate with colleagues within and across departments
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and student learning
• Post resources, feedback, and assignments to the LMS in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents/guardians
• Provide ongoing, timely, actionable, user-friendly feedback to students
• Participate in and contribute to the life of the school outside of the department

Reports to: Head of the Math Department and the Director of the Upper School

Classification: Exempt, full-time

Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Full-time faculty in the Upper School teach 3 courses per trimester/term ranging from Integrated Math 2 through Calculus, serve as academic advisors, and fulfill other duties as needed as well. They engage in regular professional development within the school and through external organizations and conferences.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000.
