Job summary

The Carroll School in Massachusetts seeks a temporary substitute teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, November to June. On-site in Wayland, you’ll deliver prepared lessons from 8 am to 4 pm and support language-based learners.

Position Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Substitute teachers are expected to deliver lessons prepared by Carroll School faculty, create lesson plans as needed, organize the classroom environment, and maintain classroom routines that support student learning from 8-4:00 pm
• Additional duties will be assigned, including lunch/recess duty and dismissal duty
• Provide extended coverage, as needed, for short or long-term leaves
• Develop positive working relationships with all constituencies; students, parents, colleagues and administration

Requirements

• Willingness to train in highly specialized approaches to teaching students with language-based learning differences
• Ability to be flexible, timely, and professional
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Salary:

Exact salary offered is dependent on educational credentials and years of experience.
