Job summary

Pipeworks Studios is seeking a Lead Engineer to support a AAA development partner on an Unreal Engine project. This client-facing co-development leadership role focuses on organizing work across distributed studios and ensuring delivery meets partner standards.

You’ll lead engineering efforts with the Pipeworks project engineering lead, translate partner priorities into actionable tasks, and guide teams through technical challenges while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on Unreal Engine experience and strong C++ proficiency in large production codebases.
• Demonstrated engineering leadership on complex game projects with delegation and accountability.
• Ability to work with a development partner and align with their priorities and processes.

Responsibilities

• Build strong working relationships with partner engineers and leadership.
• Translate partner priorities into clearly scoped tasks and coordinate across studios.
• Keep teams aligned across time zones with clear documentation and handoffs.
• Review designs, code, and gameplay results for quality, performance, and consistency.
• Lead cross-studio technical discussions and resolve questions to fit existing architecture.
