Job summary

Pipeworks Studios is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to support a AAA partner on an Unreal Engine project. You’ll work with the partner’s engineering team and coordinate across external studios to extend delivery while aligning with technical standards.

This client-facing leadership role focuses on organizing work, removing ambiguity, and ensuring implementations meet expectations. The role may be remote, hybrid, or in Eugene, Oregon.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on Unreal Engine experience.
• Strong C++ proficiency in large production codebases.
• Demonstrated engineering leadership on complex game projects.
• Experience leading client-facing engineering discussions.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with partner engineers and leadership.
• Translate partner priorities into clearly scoped tasks across studios.
• Coordinate estimates, assignments, and requirements across time zones.
• Review designs, code, and in-game results for quality and performance.
• Lead cross-studio technical discussions and decisions.
• Maintain progress, blockers, and delivery risk visibility.
• Coordinate across engineering, design, animation, art, production, QA.
• Share leadership with Pipeworks project engineering lead.
• Investigate issues and provide hands-on support to unblock teams.
