Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Engineering Development Technician III to work on advanced unmanned systems, contributing to development, build, integration, and maintenance. The role involves fabricating fixtures, assemblies, and test hardware for milestones.

The position requires strong experience in machining, composites, electronics, and real-world documentation, with travel as needed and adherence to safety standards in a lab/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED or equivalent technical certificate.
• ,

Responsibilities

• Conducts mechanical, electrical, and composite fabrication support, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment and tools (Hand tools, power tools, solder irons, manual lathe and mills, 3D printers, etc.)
• Meet scheduled timelines and deadlines to have hardware ready for project milestones
• Attend project meetings to discuss schedule, hardware status, and critical information
• Document important processes and build techniques for readiness of equipment and transition of responsibilities
• Build low volume prototype phase assemblies
• Fabrication of development test fixtures, tools or molds
• Provide design feedback to improve performance, manufacturability, safety, reliability, and cost
• Ensure lab/shop areas and equipment are safe, clean, and organized
• Maintain and participate in explosives safety program
• Other duties as assigned
