Job summary

TRUCKING PEOPLE is seeking a Unix Support Specialist in Austin to keep an autonomous vehicle fleet running safely and efficiently. This role blends technical troubleshooting with hands-on operational work in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of technical support experience, is comfortable with Unix/Linux command line, and can document issues clearly while collaborating with operations and engineering teams. Onsite role with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with ticketing systems and documenting issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues from vehicle operators and safety drivers.
• Troubleshoot, document, and elevate technical issues to engineering teams.
• Use Unix/Linux command-line tools to review logs and assist with diagnostics.
• Monitor fleet readiness, charging status, and operational health.
• Perform vehicle startup and shutdown procedures.
• Support vehicle dispatch and return operations.
• Conduct basic hardware checks including cable connections and onboard equipment.
• Move vehicles around the facility when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve issues quickly.

We're looking for a Unix Support Specialist to support the daily operations of an autonomous vehicle fleet. This role combines technical troubleshooting, real-time support, and hands-on operational work to help keep cutting-edge autonomous vehicles running safely and efficiently.

• Comfortable using Unix/Linux command line on a daily basis

• Valid U.S. driver's license held for at least 3 years
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
