Job summary

First Mid Bank & Trust is seeking a Full Time Universal Banker/Teller I in Clayton, MO. The role involves handling deposits, withdrawals, and related banking transactions while delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include opening accounts, processing transactions, and supporting sales goals by promoting banking products. A High School diploma and cash handling experience are preferred; training is provided and opportunities for growth exist within the Total Rewards program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience is preferred.
• Successful completion of required compliance and First Mid training curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution to customer needs and ensure overall satisfaction.
• Greet customers and make them feel welcome at First Mid Bank & Trust.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently within policy guidelines (deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, cashier's checks).
• Obtain manager approval for transactions outside approved limits and note any suspicious activity.
• Balance cash drawer daily and assist with branch operations.
• Open and modify accounts as requested, including basic banking services.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance the customer experience and report ideas to management.
