Job summary

BankUnited in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Teller who handles deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and cross-sells bank products while ensuring 100% client satisfaction and accuracy. The role includes operating the Platform, opening accounts, and meeting branch goals.

A sign-on bonus of $500 after six months of continuous service is offered, with training provided to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of cash handling experience (preferably Teller).
• Excellent customer service, sales, risk management and cash operations experience preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
• Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
• Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues receipts.
• Places holds on accounts as appropriate.
• Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totals with data.
• Explains, promotes, refers, or sells Bank products or services in branch or via telemarketing.
• Performs outbound calls and sets appointments to meet branch sales goals.
• Cross-trains on Platform products and assists clients with related activities.
• Opens and processes all types of accounts, products, and/or services after consulting with customers.
• Achieves individual referral goals for cross selling of all credit, non-credit and fee income.
• Maintains knowledge of current products, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations; responds to inquiries or problems.
• Assists customers with safe deposit box transactions.
• May order daily supply of cash and counts incoming cash.
• Under dual control, balances cash in ATMs and night depository.
• Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
