Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank seeks a Universal Banker who will rotate between the teller line and the customer service desk, delivering friendly, accurate service. You will open consumer and business accounts, handle routine transactions, assist with online banking, and help customers with CDs/IRAs. The role requires a high school diploma and 2-3 years teller experience; strong computer and math skills are essential.

This non-exempt, hourly position offers overtime opportunities and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years teller and/or new accounts experience preferred.
• Comfortable in a sales and service environment.
• Excellent computer, typing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between teller line and customer service desk.
• Provide superior customer service based on Service Beyond Expectations.
• Perform routine banking transactions (deposits, checks, payments, cash orders, coin processing).
• Open consumer and business bank accounts including loans and deposits.
• Assist clients with account inquiries, online/mobile banking, debit cards, wires, and check orders.
• Open and/or assist with CDARS and IRA accounts.
• Contribute to branch sales goals by identifying referrals.
• Follow bank policies and protect customer assets and security.
• Accurately complete information on systems and forms to mitigate exposure while ensuring service quality.
