Responsible for providing superior customer service to clients by processing transactions, recognizing client needs, and recommending appropriate products and services. Open, maintain, and close all types of transactions and deposit accounts efficiently. Direct the daily work of all tellers within the office to ensure orderly operations and generate referrals, coaching tellers on sales and referral techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain strong knowledge of all bank products and services, including features and benefits. Present options that best fit client needs.
- Participate in bank's referral and sales programs, campaigns, and training to meet sales goals.
- Coordinate daily with Branch Manager regarding sales and service operations.
- Coach tellers to meet sales referral goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Prepare documents to open and maintain accounts based on client needs.
- Assist clients with loan inquiries and processes, preparing them for the application process and exploring further opportunities.
- Handle IRA Certificates, renewals, and related transactions.
- Manage Certificates of Deposit, including opening, redeeming, and interest calculations.
- Assist with Safe Deposit Box rentals, ensuring all records and confidential information are secured daily.
- Balance vault cash, ATM, and branch totals, including monthly audits, managing vault transactions under dual control.
- Show empathy and compassion when assisting customers with requests, complaints, and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure daily teller balancing, assist in resolving differences, and report issues immediately.
- Maintain awareness of lobby activity to service customers efficiently.
- Stay informed about competing banks' products and promotions to make effective recommendations.
- Ensure policies on dual control are followed by all staff.
- Authority to open and close the branch following security procedures.
- Authorized to sign checks and CDs up to $50,000 and perform teller system overrides.
- Make outbound sales calls to current and prospective clients.
- Run a teller window as needed and be flexible with work schedules to meet staffing needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
- At least two years of retail banking experience as a teller or in a customer contact/sales role.
- At least one year of experience opening accounts, sales, and operations preferred.
- Previous supervisory and sales experience highly preferred.

- Knowledge of branch, vault, and ATM operations.
