The Universal Banker III (UB III) provides superior customer service to Westfield Bank customers and aims to enhance client relationships by fully adopting the Sales and Service Excellence playbook. The UB III is responsible for actively soliciting and opening all types of deposit accounts, including IRAs, Estate and Trust accounts, and business and private banking accounts, as requested. The UB III also actively solicits and originates all types of direct consumer loans, including HELOCs, home equity loans, auto loans, credit cards, and overdraft lines of credit.
Essential Functions
- Provides superior customer service to Westfield Bank customers, including opening and closing accounts, cross-selling products, and processing teller transactions accurately.
- Actively solicits and services customer requests for various loans and credit products, escalating exceptions to the Retail Banking Leader.
- Ensures operational procedures are performed accurately and efficiently, including audits, alarm testing, and branch closing.
- Assists in managing branch workflow and serves as a resource for team members; acts as backup to supervisor when needed.
- Provides retail operational reports to the Retail Operations Manager.
- Serves customers at the branch and drive-thru, handling inquiries, transactions, and follow-up within the relationship management system.
- Strives to meet individual sales targets and contributes to branch sales and customer satisfaction goals.
- Resolves customer inquiries, processes account transactions, and researches account issues across bank products.
- Refers customers to specialized bankers as appropriate.
- Maintains knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Participates in outbound calling campaigns using CRM tools to support service and sales efforts.
- Performs routine account maintenance and assists with business account management.
- Provides excellent customer service, ensuring resolution of complaints and correction of errors.
- Cross-sells bank products and educates customers on self-service options.
- Maintains compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations; supports audit activities.
- Occasionally travels for training, assignments, or between locations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of relevant banking experience.
- At least 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to identify and recommend bank products.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High initiative and leadership potential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
- Must register as a Mortgage Loan Originator with NMLS and maintain registration.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week.
- Effective communication using various technologies.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to work overtime if necessary.
