Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan is seeking a Unit Secretary/Telemetry Technician who will greet patients, answer calls, and assist nursing teams in providing compassionate care. This role supports patient and family service requests and coordinates care on the unit.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will handle clerical tasks, monitor telemetry, manage charts, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office practices.
• BLS certification is preferred.
• Experience with Windows-based systems.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain attendance.

Responsibilities

• Serves as receptionist and greeter, courteously answering inquiries from patients, families, staff, and other departments and facilities.
• Monitors telemetry for all inpatients, notifies RN of changes noted.
• Performs clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Coordinates patient care documentation and transfer requests.
• Maintains clean and organized work area and assists with unit staffing and supplies.
