Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Chester, NJ is hiring a Unit Secretary for a full-time position at our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The role involves clerical duties for patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing reports, and coordinating transportation and outside tests.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills required.
• Preferred at least 1 year of clerical experience in a medical setting.
• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing reports, and coordinating transportation and follow-up tests.
• Answer telephones and deliver messages.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies from Materials Management as needed.
• Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Transcribe and flag orders from charts.
• Arrange transport for tests not offered in the hospital.
