Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Saddle Brook, NJ is seeking a Unit Secretary to support patient care units with clerical tasks, transcription of orders, and coordination with the Charge Nurse. The per diem schedule includes 7 AM–3 PM and 3 PM–11 PM shifts, with a base pay of $23.50 per hour plus shift differential and orientation to help you start strong.

A minimum of one year of clerical experience in a medical setting and proficient computer skills are preferred, with a high school

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing reports, and coordinating transportation and tests.
• Answer and relay telephone messages accurately.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Process paperwork promptly.
• Order supplies as needed.
• Verify physician privileges before transcribing orders.
• Coordinate patient transport for tests not offered in the hospital.
