The Unit Secretary supports the Emergency Department by performing essential clerical and communication duties. Working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, this position ensures efficient workflow, accurate recordkeeping, and professional communication across all patient interactions. The Unit Secretary helps maintain an organized, responsive, and caring environment for patients, families, and clinical staff.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required only if the individual also provides direct patient care (i.e., CNA cross-trained as Unit Secretary).
This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Full-time schedules typically include rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the Emergency Department team coverage.
