Job summary

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR seeks an L&D RN for night shifts to provide bedside obstetric and newborn care across triage, labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum. You will interpret fetal monitoring, support vaginal and cesarean births, and document clearly while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

  • Current Arkansas RN license (or compact eligible).
  • BLS at hire; NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring course per recommendations; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Triage & Assessment: Admit/assess OB patients; update care plans; keep providers informed.
  • Labor & Delivery: Monitor EFM; recognize patterns and intervene; support physiologic labor and epidurals; assist/circulate for vaginal and cesarean births.
  • Medications & IVs: Start IVs; administer/monitor oxytocin and other meds per protocol; document responses.
  • Postpartum & Education: Manage routine/complicated recovery; watch for hemorrhage, infection, and hypertension; teach safe newborn care and feeding.
  • Newborn Care: Perform initial checks; support temperature, breathing, and glucose stability; raise concerns early.
  • Teamwork & Safety: SBAR handoffs; Baby-Friendly practices; infection prevention and accurate EHR documentation.

Job Summary

Provide bedside nursing care for obstetric patients and newborns across triage, labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum. You’ll interpret fetal monitoring, support vaginal and cesarean births, give medicines, document clearly, and partner with the care team to keep patients safe and informed.

  • Labor & Delivery: Monitor EFM; recognize reassuring/non-reassuring patterns and intervene; support physiologic labor and epidurals; assist/circulate for vaginal and cesarean births.
  • Medications & IVs: Start IVs; administer/monitor oxytocin and other ordered meds per protocol; document responses.
  • Postpartum & Education: Manage routine/complicated recovery; watch for hemorrhage, infection, and hypertension; teach safe newborn care and feeding (breast and bottle).
  • Newborn Care: Perform initial checks; support temperature, breathing, and glucose stability; elevate concerns early.
  • Teamwork & Safety: Give clear SBAR handoffs; follow Baby-Friendly practices; maintain infection prevention and accurate EHR documentation.
Job Qualifications
Required
  • Current Arkansas RN license (or compact eligible)
  • BLS at hire; NRP within 6 months of hire
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course per recommendations; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Preferred
  • BSN; 2+ years of nursing experience (OB preferred)
  • ACLS; S.T.A.B.L.E. within 1 year
  • RNC-OB or other OB certification encouraged
Compensation & Schedule

Status: Full-time (PRN/part-time may be considered)

Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts; may include nights/weekends/holidays based on unit needs

Pay: Competitive base pay with differentials where applicable (details during interview)
