Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a unit clerk for the 5 East South nursing unit in Worcester. You will greet patients, route calls, transcribe orders, maintain charts, and support nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role is non-exempt with a 32-hour schedule, featuring a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift and a Day Shift. Holidays occur on the third holiday; union: SHARE. A signing bonus may be available after interview.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.
• Knowledge of a variety of office procedures, operation of office equipment such as computer.

Responsibilities

• Serves as unit receptionist, directs patients, visitors and others.
• Answers telephone and intercom, takes and relays messages.
• Transcribes physician orders and enters them into the system.
• Maintains patient charts and kardexes; assembles medical records.
• Schedules patients for visits and coordinates transport when needed.
• Maintains unit log and supplies; supports clinical staff.
