Job summary

Gate Gourmet, part of gategroup, is seeking a Unit Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, uphold safety standards, and ensure adherence to company policies at our Inwood, NY facility. You will lead a large team, manage labor controls, coordinate audits, and mentor staff while supporting quality, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive process improvements in a high-volume kitchen

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, business operations or related field.
• Five years minimum safety experience, preferably in a multi-site organization.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage a large staff.

Responsibilities

• Supports safety program for all employees and ensures compliance.
• Ensures labor controls are in place and effective.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, facilitates audits and develops action plans.
• Ensures safety best-practices are followed through audits and inspections.
• Supports Total Quality Management and initiates problem-solving efforts.
• Supports management on security and risk for the unit.
• Mentors and trains subordinates on company directives and policies.
• Builds team cohesion throughout the unit.
