Job summary

The Laurels of Sandy Creek is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead nursing care and educate staff at our skilled nursing facility in Michigan. You will plan, coordinate and manage patient care while supporting MDS/CAA processes and ensuring a compassionate care environment for residents.

This leadership role emphasizes teaching, teamwork, and quality of care across shifts. CPR certification is required; prior supervision in long-term care is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RN, LPN and CNA staff.
• Reviews and implements nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates systems facilitating quality guest care and staff performance.
• Uses a systematic nursing process to provide individualized care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and develops care plans.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands medication rationales and administers as needed.

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and others.


• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.


• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality guest care and performance of staff.


• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.


• Contributes to the guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.


• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.


• Understands the rational for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.
