Job summary

The Laurels of Hudsonville is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead nursing care and health education for residents in our skilled nursing setting.

Lead a team of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, while coordinating care plans and ensuring quality guest care in a compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure is required.
• Current CPR certification is required and additional nursing specialty certification is preferred.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, CNAs and others.
• Reviews and implements nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates systems affecting quality guest care and staff performance.
• Utilizes a systematic nursing process to provide individualized care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA) and plans of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands rationale for medications and ensures appropriate administration.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality guest care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rational for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure required
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty desired
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred
