Job summary

Frostburg Rehab Center in Frostburg, Maryland is seeking a Unit Manager and Wound Nurse to oversee daily unit operations and provide advanced wound care. This role combines leadership with direct clinical responsibilities in a short-term inpatient setting.

You will supervise LPNs, RNs, and CNAs, coordinate admissions and transfers, and work with the team to create individualized care plans. MD-licensed nurses with geriatric experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN or RN in good standing with Maryland or multi-state license.
• Minimum one year of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff (LPNs, RNs, CNAs) to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Assist with admissions, readmissions, and transfers between rooms.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
• Conduct wound assessments and implement wound care treatments.
• Monitor and report patient progress and changes in condition.
• Participate in clinical start-up and department stand-up meetings.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure smooth transitions.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Unit Manager and Wound Nurse to join our team. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the unit, including managing staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your clinical expertise as a wound nurse will be utilized to provide high-quality wound care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise nursing staff, including LPNs, RNs, and CNAs, to ensure provision of high-quality patient care
• Assist with new admissions, re-admissions, and transfers of patients to different rooms within the facility
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
• Conduct wound assessments, develop wound care plans, and implement wound care treatments
• Monitor and report patient progress, identifying changes in condition or behavior
• Participate in clinical start-up and department head stand-up meetings
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure seamless transitions and positive outcomes

Requirements:

• Licensed LPN or RN in good standing and currently licensed by the State of Maryland or Mulitstate License
• Minimum one year of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing

  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company software (PCC)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information
