Job summary

Universal Health Services in McAllen, TX is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under supervision of the registered nurse. You will collaborate with the Nursing Team to support daily patient needs and uphold the facility’s Service Excellence standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a CNA/MA/PCT certificate or be enrolled in a nursing program, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or Higher Education preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
• CNA certificate and/or a certificate of completion of CNA program and/or PCT certificate; Medical Assistant certificate and/or a certificate of a MA program; Current enrollment in LVN, ADN or BSN accredited school of nursing with successful Completion of first semester at a minimum.
• BLS upon hire and remain current thereafter.
• De-escalation class within first year of hire as required by site based on specialty unit and job function.
• Must be > 18 years of age by the date of hire

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, competent patient-centered care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department.
• Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.
