Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a nursing assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role involves active participation in the Nursing Team on the assigned unit and supporting an organizational culture of Service Excellence across all customer groups.

Preferred candidates have acute care experience, a high school diploma or higher, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or higher education preferred.
• Must possess CNA certificate and/or a certificate of completion of a CNA program and/or PCT certificate or Medical Assistant certificate and/or a MA program certificate.
• Current enrollment in LVN, ADN or BSN accredited nursing program with completion of first semester at a minimum.
• BLS upon hire and remain current thereafter.
• Must be > 18 years of age by date of hire.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides safe, competent patient-centered care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. The nursing assistant provides care under the direction of the registered nurse. Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. Qualifications

Prefer experience in an acute care setting.

Education / Licensure
