Job summary

South Texas Health System seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse on the assigned unit. You will collaborate with the Nursing Team to deliver quality care in accordance with facility policies and standards.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, BLS upon hire, and CNA or MA program completion, with LVN/ADN/BSN enrollment acceptable after first semester. Pre-employment assessments may be required.

Qualifications

• Education or licensure as listed: HS diploma or higher.
• BLS required upon hire and remain current.
• De-escalation class within first year of hire as required by site.
• Must be >18 years of age by hire date.
• Pre-employment assessment may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, competent patient-centered care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department.
• Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Education

High School diploma, GED or Higher Education preferred

BLS certification upon hire

Enrollment in LVN/ADN/BSN with first semester completed

CNA certificate and/or CNA program completion
