Job summary

Republic Services in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Payroll Analyst I to produce accurate payroll entries for unionized employees covered by 175+ local CBAs. You will analyze large data sets and ensure confidential handling within payroll systems, supporting all payroll tasks for union staff.

This role requires hands-on experience with multi-state payroll, familiarity with FLSA, and strong Excel skills. Workday or similar HCM systems and payroll applications like ADP, Lawson, Ceridian, or Kronos are

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years payroll experience
• Experience with processing payroll for large companies (10K+ employees)
• Experience with multiple union payrolls
• Experience with Workday or similar HCM system
• Intermediate Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
• Experience with payroll applications (ADP, Lawson, Ceridian, Kronos)

Responsibilities

• Review CBAs and apply ratifications to payroll accurately and timely
• Prepare and analyze union health & welfare, and pension contributions
• Maintain, analyze, and report union dues deductions
• Prepare and remit weekly 401K contributions
• Audit payroll cycles for accuracy across various deductions and premiums
• Collaborate with HR, Total Rewards, HRIS, and field payroll teams
• Prepare payroll reports as requested
• Support payroll system testing and knowledge transfer
