Job summary

Republic Services in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Payroll Compliance Specialist to support the Payroll Compliance team, triaging Service Now tickets and processing union benefit deductions for health, welfare, and pension programs.

The role collaborates with HR, Finance, HRIS and third-party trusts, prepares weekly union 401K reporting, and ensures compliance with CBAs, FLSA and local payroll laws in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement language and interpretation.
• Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with payroll processing or benefits administration and ServiceNow.
• Attention to detail and focus in a high-volume environment.
• Excel expertise: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data queries.
• FLSA knowledge and local payroll law familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Run reports to obtain union benefit deductions and upload for processing.
• Create union medical deductions and mass uploads per CBAs.
• Remit monthly health & welfare and pension payments to third-party trusts.
• Manage ServiceNow tickets related to union benefits issues.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, HRIS and union partners for inquiries.
• Assist with payroll reporting for union audits and data collection.
