Job summary

Eaton's IS AER FED division in Rumford, RI is seeking a Machinist - 1st Shift to produce precision components using CNC lathes and manual equipment. The core hours are 7 am - 3 pm, Monday to Friday, in a unionized Rumford facility with a 60-day probationary period.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, in-process inspections, tooling and fixture modifications, heat treatment operations, and a range of machining processes while maintaining tight tolerances and a safe, 5S-environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC turning or milling operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documents.
• Demonstrated precision and tight tolerances up to .0001 inches.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes and other equipment in the cell.
• Operate conventional and programmable CMMs for in-process inspection.
• Heat treat and stabilize components using ovens and related equipment.
• Mark components by dot peen, ink stamp, electro-etch, vibro-peen, or laser.
• Maintain clean, safe work area following 5S and safety guidelines.
