Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Machinist (2nd shift) in Rumford, RI to set up and operate CNC lathes and related equipment. The role involves closing tolerances, micrometers and CMM inspection, and ensuring safe, efficient production within the cell.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and a Machinist/Tool & Die program or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years of CNC Turning or Milling experience. Unionized facility; probationary period applies.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes and other equipment in the cell.
• Set up and operate both conventional and programmable CMM's.
• Set up and operate ovens and freezers to heat treat and stabilize components.
• Mark components using dot peen, ink stamp, electro-etch or laser.
• Use fixtures and alignment tools to maintain accuracy while setting up.
• Select speeds and feeds based on material and finish requirements.
• Maintain tight tolerances and inspect parts during production.
• Read blueprints and setup sheets to produce parts within tolerance.
