Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FED division seeks a Machinist - 1st Shift in Rumford, RI. The role offers a $35.28 hourly rate with a 7 am–3 pm core schedule. This union facility includes a 60‑day probation period before union membership and dues begin.

You will set up and operate CNC/manual machines to produce precision parts to tight tolerances. Responsibilities include measuring with precision tools, adhering to 5S and safety standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Machinist or Tool & Die program from an accredited institution OR equivalent working experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC Turning or Milling.
• U.S. export-controlled information: must be a U.S. person.
• No relocation benefit; within a 50-mile radius.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Okuma CNC lathes and related equipment in the cell.
• Set up and operate conventional and programmable CMMs.
• Heat treat and stabilize components using ovens and freezers.
• Maintain tolerances as close as .0001" and verify with measurement tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement and uphold 5S and safety practices.
