Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking an Underwriting Support Specialist II to perform underwriting support tasks, ensure proper file documentation, and issue policies. You will serve as the main contact for agents and internal stakeholders, handling renewals, endorsements, and rate-related tasks.

Requires a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years in commercial casualty underwriting support, preferably in a multi-state setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college/insurance courses desirable.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial casualty underwriting support experience.
• Experience in a multi-state environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform underwriting support tasks within authority, including new/renewal screening.
• Review bind requests for completeness and coordinate with underwriter.
• Convert bind requests into policy typing packets for typing and issuance.
• Manage diaries and follow-ups for accounts.
• Process endorsements and rate new/renewal accounts.
• Review inspections and prepare findings for underwriters.
• Refer risks beyond delegated authority to the underwriter.
• Communicate with agents on policy maintenance items.
• Other duties as assigned by supervising underwriter.
