Job summary

Selective Insurance in Scottsdale, AZ, invites college students to join the Ignite Internship program for Summer 2027. This 11-week, full-time internship offers a window into the insurance world with on-the-job assignments, team projects, and exposure to leadership.

As an Underwriting Intern, you’ll support the underwriting team’s goals, learn risk assessment, and gain experience in areas such as risk management, internal audit, and claims.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

Responsibilities

• Learn about Selective’s history, mission and operations.
• Compile daily cash balances and perform cash forecasting tasks.
• Assist in uploading daily/monthly journal entries to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly cash analysis.
• Maintain Sarbanes Oxley documentation and perform test-work.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
