Selective Insurance Company of America invites college students to join the Ignite Internship program at our Short Hills, NJ corporate office. The 11‑week, full‑time experience offers exposure to the underwriting process and real project work within our corporate underwriting department.

As an Underwriting Intern, you’ll help support growth and profitability goals across key SBUs, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring commuting distance to Branchville or Short Hills, NJ.

Formación

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in engaging projects and assignments that support our SBU’s with focus on specific industry groups.
• Research, analyze and recommend a course of action for those projects which may involve the possible expansion of our customer base and/or cutting‑edge product offerings to meet today’s challenges.
• Use analytical, marketing, and presentation skills to provide detailed analysis, research, and evaluation of available underwriting information and product offerings for projects that support both the SBU’s and our regional field offices.
