Selective Insurance Company of America invites college students to join the Ignite Internship program for summer 2027 at our Dresher, PA or Scottsdale, AZ offices. This 11-week, full-time internship provides hands-on exposure to MUSIC and broader underwriting processes, with on-the-job assignments and exposure to leadership.

You will work with cross-functional teams on real business projects, including potential AI initiatives, while developing professional skills and building valuable industry

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Interest in learning about the insurance industry, specifically within excess and surplus.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate professionally and work part of a team.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meaningful business projects supporting MUSIC’s growth, profitability, and operational goals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve real business challenges and contribute fresh ideas that can make a difference, like AI integration and process improvement.
• Gain firsthand exposure to the foundations of underwriting while gaining a deeper understanding of an insurance carrier’s business operations.
