Zusammenfassung

Markel Group is seeking an Associate Underwriting Manager/Underwriting Manager to lead our lawyers professional underwriting team in the United States. The role reports to the SR Director and oversees underwriting support staff, shaping underwriting strategy for admitted and non-admitted products while improving workflows and outcomes.

The position requires managing complex risks, driving performance, and strengthening external relationships in a dynamic insurance environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• 5–10 years of underwriting;
• Demonstrated aptitude to manage people and projects;
• Proven ability to make sound underwriting decisions;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Ability to achieve business goals and objectives;
• Demonstrated sales, marketing and relationship management skills

Aufgaben

• Be a leader on the team and execute on Director’s product strategy
• Evaluate complex risks and identify opportunities to structure coverage solutions that align with underwriting guidelines and business objectives.
• Manage Associate Underwriters and Underwriting support to performance goals and metrics
• Monitor workflows and create efficiencies to improve team performance
• Manage and contribute to the management of key external relationships
• Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing priorities, market conditions, and business needs.
• Contribute ideas that improve team efficiency, customer experience, and underwriting procedures
