Job summary

Guardian is offering a 2027 Summer Internship Program in an on-site, 10-week format in Bethlehem, PA. The program provides a paid learning experience with involvement in daily business activities, project work, and interaction with senior leaders and interns.

You will gain industry knowledge and network across Guardian’s offices while developing underwriter skills. The internship runs May 27, 2027–August 6, 2027 and targets a junior graduating in May 2028.

Qualifications

• A high level of comfort working with math, numbers, and detailed information.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Coursework or demonstrated interest in business, finance, economics, risk management, insurance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a training program to understand the Underwriter role.
• Be part of a team responsible for assessing risk and making decisions on an appropriate rate level.
• Identify and communicate trends to support key financial measures.
• Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career.
• Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offerings.
• Build a network of colleagues and have a sense of community with other interns and other parts of the business.
