Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks an experienced Governance & Underwriting Authority Lead to design and manage the enterprise-wide framework for underwriting guidelines, LOA rules, and automation. You will partner with Underwriting Practices, QA, IT, Product, and Operations to ensure currency, accuracy, and scalable deployment of guidelines across channels.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of commercial underwriting guidelines and processes.
• Experience designing governance frameworks and compliance systems.
• Ability to scale governance across humans, automated decisions, and AI tools.
• Strong documentation and editing skills.
• Cross-functional collaboration across IT, QA, Training, Product, and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the governance structure for underwriting guidelines.
• Serve as single source of truth and owner of guideline currency.
• Enforce currency, clarity, accessibility standards.
• Coordinate learning content synchronization with guideline updates.
• Monitor adherence and drive resolution across departments.
• Partner with IT, Product, and Ops to align automation with guidelines.
